Arlington Sedation Dentistry

What Is Sedation Dentistry?

Unfortunately, many people suffer from dental anxiety and quite a few of these sufferers avoid the dentist altogether due to their fear. Our team at Arlington Bright Smiles wants to change that. This is why in addition to our comfortable, relaxing, and welcoming environment and friendly staff, we offer top-quality sedation dentistry solutions.

Sedation dentistry uses medication delivered either orally, by gas, or through IV to help dental patients stay calm and comfortable during their procedure. There are levels of sedation, from minimal—where you are still awake but relaxed—to general anesthesia—where you are completely asleep. Our experienced dentist will customize your sedation to your needs and comfort level, so you can get the high-quality dental care you need, while you stay relaxed in the dental chair.

What Type of Sedation Will Work Best for You?

Experienced Sedation Dentist in Arlington

Our entire team wants you to feel safe and comfortable during your visit, which is why we offer an array of sedation options to find the perfect solution for you.

  • Oral Sedation: For minimal to moderate sedation, we might recommend taking a prescription medication prior to your appointment. This will help you stay awake but relaxed throughout your procedure, but does require you to have transportation arranged post-service.
  • Nitrous Oxide: Also known as laughing gas, you inhale this sedative through a mask that fits comfortably over your nose and mouth. This fast-acting sedative will put you at-ease throughout your procedure while still allowing you to drive home afterward.
  • IV Sedation: By administering your sedative through a needle in you vein, you can expect a fast-acting sedative that can be adjusted throughout the procedure.
  • General Anesthesia: For those with extreme dental phobia, it might be recommended to undergo general anesthesia, which puts you to sleep for the duration of your procedure.

At Arlington Bright Smiles, we will go above and beyond to ensure your complete comfort during your dental visit. We understand that one of the best ways to ease fears is by keeping you in the driver’s seat of your oral health. Which is why we take the time to answer your every question, explain your treatment without confusing jargon, and offer customized options—including sedation solutions. If you live in Arlington or any of the surrounding areas, and are curious about easing your dental anxiety through our sedation dentistry, turn to our exceptional dental professionals.
